River Valley Obstetrics and Gynecology was established in 2021 by Dr. Suzanna Chatterjee-Morris. She is dual board certified with obstetrics and gynecology as well as obesity medicine. Dr. Chatterjee-Morris moved to the area from Nashville, TN and has called Russellville her home for over 9 years. In that time, she has been involved in caring for thousands of women for their pregnancies, births and women's health needs. She is passionate about advocating for her patients and providing an environment that fosters optimizing your health. She has created a beautifully designed space that has all of the necessary amenities including ultrasonography with HD Live technology. She has been instrumental in designing each component of this office from the color of the paint on the walls to where each light has been hung to what supplies are being utilized to best achieve comfort during procedures. She has carefully selected staff that are caring, hard-working, compassionate people that have significant healthcare experience. Dr. Chatterjee-Morris has over 17 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been able to draw from her diverse experiences to provide an inviting, safe and calming place for patient's to receive their care.
At River Valley Obstetrics and Gynecology, we provide compassionate and comprehensive care for women in all stages of life. We offer full service preconception and obstetrics care and recently have added certified nurse midwifery as an option to help you and your loved ones through some of the most difficult yet precious times in your life. Additionally, we are skilled to take care of you for all gynecologic needs whether you are having problems with periods, achieving or preventing pregnancy, sexual health, infections, hormones, menopause, weight loss, skin disorders or many other issues. We are here to help you through whatever your needs are in a nonjudgmental and supportive way. You will find us easy to talk to and genuinely concerned for your health and well-being. We also pride ourselves in being privately owned and operated and therefore can assist with all needs and questions on-site. All of our staff will know you by name and we hope that you will find we care for you as we would our friends and family. All of our insurance verification and billing will be done by our in-house staff rather than using a third party company so you can be assured all billing related questions and concerns can be addressed easily.

Birth control
All commercially available contraceptive options and we will verify your specific benefits in order to provide you with personalized options
High or Low Risk Pregnancy
Comprehensive care from confirmation of pregnancy through the postpartum period and beyond. Your care can be in conjunction with an MFM specialist while providing your primary obstetric care or with a certified nurse midwife in our office
Hormone Optimization
Diagnosis of hormone imbalance whether premenopausal or postmenopausal with options for replacement therapy including oral, topical, injections and bioidentical hormone pellets
Sexually transmitted infections
Diagnosis and treatment of all sexually transmitted infections for you as well as your partner
Pelvic pain and Sexual health
Diagnosis and treatment of pelvic pain
Assistance with painful intercourse and libido
Gynecologic surgery
Minor and major gynecologic surgery with an emphasis on minimally invasive techniques such as daVinci assisted robotic laparoscopy or vNOTES that our physician/surgeon continually educates herself in.
Weight loss
Obesity medicine board certified physician assistance and accountability for medical weight loss including but not limited to GLP-1 medications
Management of abnormal pap smears
Diagnosis and treatment of abnormal pap smears with in office colposcopy and LEEP
Vaginitis
Diagnosis and treatment of vaginitis and cervicitis with in-house testing and results within 24 hours
On-site comprehensive ultrasound
Advanced HD Live, 3D, 4D and Pelvic sonography performed by a highly skilled and high risk trained sonographer
In-house surgical procedures
We perform hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation, LEEP as well as a number of other procedures under IV sedation administered by a CRNA right here in our office

Miranda Smith, DNP, CNM, APRN
We are excited to have Miranda join us in the role of a Certified Nurse-Midwife.
Miranda has a Doctorate in Certified Nurse-Midwifery from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She loves caring for women through every season of life, from annual wellness visits and adolescence to pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause. Her goal is to create a space where every patient feels comfortable, heard, and genuinely cared for.

What is certified nurse midwifery?
Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) are advanced-practice clinicians who provide evidence-based care throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. Compared with a traditional obstetric model, midwifery care often places greater emphasis on low-intervention birth, shared decision-making, continuous support, freedom of movement and positioning during labor, and individualized education and counseling. When pregnancy remains low-risk, a CNM can support physiologic birth while closely monitoring both mother and baby. And when additional medical expertise or intervention is needed, care within a collaborative hospital-based practice allows patients to have access to obstetric and hospital resources without having to choose between personalized midwifery care and medical safety. The goal isn't “midwife versus OB”—it's the right level of care for the right patient, with a team committed to a safe and positive birth experience.
What to expect from midwifery care in Russellville...
Midwifery care is centered around you—your goals, your questions, and your individual pregnancy. You can expect personalized, evidence-based care with time to discuss your options, prepare for birth, and actively participate in decisions about your care. During labor, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, your midwife can provide hands-on support, encourage movement and position changes, and help you work with your body’s natural labor process—while still supporting your choices for pain relief and medical interventions when needed. Most importantly, you don’t have to choose between personalized midwifery care and the safety of a hospital. Your care is provided alongside our dual board certified OB/GYN with the full resources of the hospital available whenever needed.
